Why be one of us?

Right now you’re probably thinking about whether to continue in further education or to get started on the career ladder. We think an EE Apprenticeship is a great opportunity to do both – you can start earning and get valuable work experience. And at the same time study towards a recognised qualification that will drive forward your career with us – and beyond.

Over the next couple of years, we’ve got our sights on 500 new apprentices to work across our business.

We’re looking for fresh new talent to join our Retail Teams in 700+ stores around the country and our Customer Teams at contact centres in Plymouth, Merthyr Tydfil, Darlington, Doxford, North Tyneside and Greenock. We’ll also be saying hello to Head Office apprentices in Bristol, Hatfield, Solihull and London.

Recruitment opens at various points throughout the year, so keep an eye on the ‘Apply’ section at the bottom of this page and sign up for alerts to keep up to date with current vacancies.

What excites you about working for EE?

What excites me about working for EE is the opportunity to work my way up the ladder. You’re really busy all day, and you really get chucked in the deep end. But you’ve got a lot of support around you. It’s a really exciting time to work for EE at the moment.

What’s the best advice you can give someone applying?

Go in and be yourself. Everyone on the apprenticeship scheme that I know didn’t get the job because of what they achieved before, or their academics. It’s about their personality and characteristics, and showing that they have passion for the role they’re applying for.

Why should someone apply to the EE Apprentice Scheme?

The apprenticeship scheme alone is brilliant, which is what first attracted me to this job. Also as a company the benefits of working here are amazing, and all the people are really friendly. I have a right laugh when I’m in the office!

We’re on the forefront of the telecoms networking world in the UK, which is constantly changing. There is always something new round the corner.

Retail

Your 15 months of in-store learning gets up and running with a warm welcome and a five-day induction. Starting out as a Sales Advisor, you’ll learn what EE is all about on the shop floor while getting heaps of encouragement from your Store Manager. You’ll also have a clear performance framework in place, and we’ll do everything we can to support your studies towards a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Retail.

In your first year, your basic salary will be £10,000, rising to over £12,000 after 12 months. And once you’ve been with us for six months, you’ll have the chance to earn some tasty bonuses. It’s a great way to start your retail career – and if you impress us, there’ll be a permanent job offer waiting for you at the end of it.

Head Office

Join EE on one of our 15-month Head Office Apprenticeships and you’ll find yourself getting to grips with amazing technology and real-life challenges.

We have schemes in areas ranging from:

  • Marketing based in London
  • Sales based in Hatfield and London
  • Technology based in Bristol
  • Business to Business based in London and Solihull
  • HR based in Bristol

So the breadth of opportunities is huge. But wherever you join, one thing’s for sure: you’ll enjoy real guidance and plenty of support as you study towards a Level 3 Advanced Apprenticeship in a related subject.

You’ll start off on a salary of £15,000, which will jump up to around £17,000 after your first year. And on top of the chance to earn yourself bonuses after six months, you’ll have a shot of getting a permanent role at the end of your apprenticeship. All you need to do is impress.

Customer Team

On our Customer Team Apprenticeship, your first six to 10 weeks will be spent learning everything you need to get going in a contact centre. After that, your 15-month apprenticeship really gets started. As an Advisor, you can choose to work in Customer Service, dealing with everything from billing enquiries to complex technical issues, or in Campaigns where you’ll introduce customers to new products and services. And with regular paid time off to learn at college as you work towards a Level 2 Apprenticeship in Contact Centre Operations in England or Wales, or a Level 3 Apprenticeship in Customer Service in Scotland, we’ll help you study your socks off too.

You’ll start on a basic salary of £10,000, rising to over £12,000 after 12 months. And you’ll also have the chance to earn fantastic bonuses or commission after six months. In fact, if you do well you might find a permanent job offer waiting for you at the end of your apprenticeship.

Who can apply?

If you’re aged 16 or over and no longer in full-time education, you’re eligible to apply for an EE Apprenticeship. That said, for some schemes – like our Head Office Apprenticeship – we do ask that you also have at least five GCSEs, including Maths and English at grades A-C.

Age might not be a factor, but we should make it clear that the scheme is designed for those with limited work experience and is focused on helping them develop the skills they need to build a successful career.

What’s the application process?

The most important thing about the process is discovering if you’re right for us and if an EE Apprenticeship is right for you. That’s why we’ve created a recruitment process that helps us discover everything we need to know about each other.
Once you’re ready to apply, the first thing you’ll need to do is complete an application form and a short online questionnaire. The test should only take 20-30 minutes and is designed to find out if you could thrive as an EE apprentice.

Once you’re through that, there’s a video interview where you’ll be asked to record answers to some simple questions about why you want to be EE. The process ends at an in-person assessment centre – there you’ll have the chance to speak to current EE employees and show us why you’d be a brilliant EE apprentice.

Apply now

It’s important that you’re right for us and that an EE Apprenticeship is right for you. With that in mind, we’ve created a robust recruitment process that starts with you completing an application form, goes on to include pre-screening by the college you’d be studying with, and ends with an EE on-site assessment.
