Tech Stars

23 Mar 2017

During his time at Mobile World Congress, Marc Allera took some time out of his busy schedule to talk with YouTube stars Alex (Tech Flow) and Ash Tailor (AT) along with Leigh Geary from Coolsmartphone. They discusssed what it takes to be the UK’s biggest and fastest 4G network as well as what we can do to further improve the experience for all of our customers.
The guys were suitably impressed by us being the only network capable of allowing customers to make the most of the new Sony XZ Premium’s 1Gbps download capability. We're rather chuffed too.

Dizzy Heights

22 Mar 2017

EE has now brought 4G to another Scottish Mountain - Glencoe Mountain Resort follows Coll, Orkney, Shetland and Skye as regions already benefiting from new EE 4G sites. At 2,800 feet up the mountain EE users can enjoy connectivity to make sure they can share all their snowboarding skills and beautiful scenery. Read more: http://bit.ly/2m2mKP7

Marc Allera, our CEO, said: “We want to provide a 4G connection wherever people go. We’ve got to 3,000 feet, and we’ll go higher and further to keep people connected.” Can you help us scale the heights? Join our team: http://bit.ly/2fl6qWJ

EE: a big happy fish in a pond of innovation

17 Mar 2017

Earlier this month, we attended the Mobile World Congress in Barcelona. We were in the good company of over 108,000 professionals from 208 countries and territories. That's quite a gathering. Over the course of five days, the biggest names in tech showcased their latest products and innovations. Views were shared around topics such as 5G, converged networks and the connected world. As always, the event was buzzing with exciting developments in all things techie.

A clean sweep

16 Mar 2017

At EE, all our employees are given plenty of scope to make an impression on the wider world. For example, here's one of our lovely teams volunteering last month at Darlington South Park. Everyone who works for us gets two days' leave to volunteer. We also offer avenues of support for fundraising that include a fund-matching scheme and the chance to support charities through our award-winning Payroll Giving scheme.
It may be a cliche but, there is no “I” in Team, but there is “U” in Volunteer. Give us a hand: http://bit.ly/2akm5p2

EE: talking BAFTAs, selfies and socks

14 Mar 2017

Our CEO, Marc Allera, had a super time with the team representing EE at the BAFTAs last month. To make it even more special, it was our 20th year of partnering with the event, making it one of the longest partnerships in British history. We also recently announced that that partnership will continue through 2018 and 2019.

So, who were the winners from the night? How successful was Laura Whitmore in persuading A-listers to pose with our RoboSelfie? And, what was the big decision Marc made as to what socks to wear? Find answers to these (and other) questions on his Twitter feed: http://bit.ly/2lVWMwK

We are so making a habit of this winning lark

09 Mar 2017

RootMetrics measures and monitors mobile network services nationwide and, for the seventh time in a row, EE has won the UK overall award outright! Read the full report: http://bit.ly/2llyhwB

We've come first in all six categories (overall, reliability, speed, data, call and text). The competition is getting tougher, but we're determined to stay ahead of the rest. It's just how we roll.

This year we're aiming for 92% geographic coverage, and we hope to reach 95% by 2020. We won't rest until 100% of our customers get the coverage they need, wherever they are.

EE: Turning 'not spots' into 'hotspots'

08 Mar 2017

Almost 1,000 miles apart and at opposite ends of the UK, Shetland and the Isles of Scilly now have 4G coverage. Living on an island no longer has to mean isolation (unless you prefer it that way of course!). Watch the video to see how 4G is already transforming the lives of people living in remote areas.
