What is your role at EE and what does this involve?

I'm in my fourth and final rotation of the EE Digital Graduate Scheme, which has been in place for the last 3 years to encourage passionate and driven graduates to join the company at entry level. The graduate scheme allows us to rotate every 6 months into a new team in the Digital area, helping me to gain an unparalleled understanding of how EE Digital operates. I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles during my four rotations:

  • Digital Planning and Implementation – helping to plan projects that impact our website and My EE App to ensure that our Digital teams could manage the incoming demand from other areas of the business.
  • Digital Architecture and Solution Design – creating impact assessments for new projects as well as designing the technical and business architecture models.
  • Digital Data and Insight – everything from reporting on our website and My EE app’s weekly performance to providing real time updates on the progress of big device launches.
  • Digital Care – working as a product owner to improve the experience our customers receive on the EE Community.

What do you enjoy most about EE?

The culture and the people. There is nothing better than enjoying not only your job, but the people that help you get the job done. I've loved working with such a rich and varied mix of people. The graduate scheme has allowed me to sample both technical and business focused teams, each requiring different skillsets. Every team I have worked in have given me great support and guidance which has been vital as I have rotated through the teams.

What one thing have you been proud of since you first started your job at EE?

My proudest moment was raising £62,000 with eight other graduates across the business in aid of The Prince’s Trust. Over six months we organised many events, including a live streamed FIFA tournament, pub quiz, Jailbreak and a Gala Dinner and Auction. We also picked up the Triumph Award for our teamwork and outstanding performance over the six month challenge. It’s great that my role at EE hasn’t just been defined by learning about the Digital teams, I have also been given the time and opportunity to learn from being set other challenges.

What advice would you give to someone who is thinking about joining EE?

Go for it! I have really enjoyed my time at EE and would encourage anyone to join us. The news will tell you EE is the biggest and fastest network in the UK, EE recruiters will tell you it’s the best place to work according to the Sunday Times, and I will build on that by saying they are all right! I love being part of this company for the people, the challenge and the sense of satisfaction. And you will too.

Lauren is EE. Are you?
