We’ve recently found out that we’ve been awarded three stars by Best Companies for our outstanding levels of employee engagement. But we don’t just leave it to the outside world. We also use Pulse – our own internal engagement survey – to see how our people feel about working here and where we need to improve. 

After several years of transformation, we’re getting some of the best results ever from Pulse. For the first time, eight of the nine factors that the survey measures either equalled or beat their previous high scores. Our people left us some 16,000 comments – and we read every one so we can make sure we’re improving the things that will really make the difference to our teams.

Learning and Development

We offer a solid induction and intensive training programmes across the company. And once you’re in a role, we want to help you be the very best you can be and achieve your career goals. Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR)

At EE, we’re all about playing our part in building a better Britain. Through the connectivity we offer on our mobile and fixed networks we have the ability to transform the everyday lives of people up and down the country. And we’ve taken big steps to make sure that we’re a trusted business, too. From investing millions in improving our service and reducing our carbon emissions, to doing our best to keep children safe online – we’re constantly striving to make EE more responsible.

Connecting people is at the heart of what we do. And we’re determined to close the digital divide, encouraging the unconnected to get online through our community-led activities like Techy Tea parties and Techy Time in schools. Another one of our key initiatives is our award-winning apprenticeship programme. It helps young people into work and allows them to gain new skills and nationally recognised qualifications that’ll lead to a fulfilling and rewarding career. And with contact centres and retail stores all over the country, we’re able to make a positive contribution to the communities in which we operate.

Our employees have plenty of scope to do their bit for the wider world too. Each person gets two days’ leave to volunteer, EE’s support for any fundraising (including a fund-matching scheme) and the chance to support charities through our award-winning Payroll Giving scheme. A recent one-off Payroll Giving option for Unicef’s efforts in Nepal raised some £6,000. Overall, EE’s 10-year partnership with Unicef has generated about £5.5m.

We’re thrilled to have placed 1st in The Sunday Times’ Best Big Companies to work for list. This is the fifth year in a row that we’ve made the top 25, but we’ve really outdone ourselves this time by becoming the ones to beat. We also recently triumphed in three categories at AllAboutSchoolLeavers.co.uk’s Top 100 Employers for School & College Leavers 2016-17 Awards, ranking #4 in Top Advanced Apprenticeship Employers, #5 in Top 100 Employers for School & College Leavers and taking the award for Best Company Culture.

We want everyone to be able to get connected and enjoy the brilliant benefits that technology can bring. Whether it’s employees or customers, we have a pivotal role to play in supporting those with accessibility needs. This year, we’ve achieved a Silver Award from the Business Disability Forum (BDF) for our work in making improvements across the organisation, with our overall score increasing from 73% to 80.57%. We’re thrilled to have progressed from a Bronze Award, which we’ve received for the previous two years demonstrating the continuous improvements we’re making.
